It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what Lodwick is up to here. Too bad the same thing can’t be said about his hair.

My bet is that he will be launching a web site similar to myspace that allows bands to post “context” and “content” along with a way for consumers to direct purchase their songs. The bands will post pictures, bios, blogs, and songs just like on myspace, but there will be direct purchasing opportunities. But I recall that myspace WAS going to set something up like this (maybe I’m wrong). And aren’t there a few sites that have tried this sort of thing (Tuneshout.com comes to mind). It will be interesting to see what Lodwick has up his sleeve, but unless it is totally out of the box, it’s not likely to take off.

The hair thing

No, Jason. You don’t look better with your hair parted that way. And what made you think that, I don’t know. Yeah, I know, you’re due for your “mid-20’s” crisis. So buy a new car. Or start a new company. Biut leave your hair alone. And either put your shirt on or get on over here.

I just realized I’ve been parting my hair wrong for decades, combing it from all the way on the left instead of at the natural part.

WTF is a Jakob Lodwick??

I don’t know…I must be way behind the times, but I just stumbled (tumbl’d?) onto Jakob Lodwick’s blog. After I was mesmerized (more about that later), I tracked him down and learned about his history; what the supposed “pundits” were saying about him etc. His unorthodox background (is that anti-semitic?) doesn’t detract from the fact that this guy has somehow cast a spell on me (and from what I can tell, on many other people). And although I have to admit to a similar obsession with new-found (at least to me) Valleywag, my strange fascination with Lodwick seems to outweigh my need for flaming Valleywag tech gossip.

So, what does this mean? Nothing. I’m not one of those weird chicks who are obsessed with him (wait, ARE there any??). But I do admire people who excel at their craft, and he is one of them. Now if I can just figure out what his craft is. But seriously, maybe this is just the artist in me speaking, but the photos on his blog and his ideas/blogs speak to me. You can 5150 me now.
